Remapping Warranty & Insurance
Remapping from Ignitek can come with a comprehensive warranty, although it’s not open to all vehicles. We can only offer it to qualifying vehicles.
As part of any warranty you will be issued with a tuning certificate and warranty booklet showing the date of your remap and the mileage at the point the remap takes place.
Our ECU remapping warranty:
- 12 months from date of remap
- 30,000 mileage limit from time of remap
- £10,000 maximum claim amount
What you need to know about insurance and remapping
An ECU remap will alter the way in which your engine delivers its power and performance. Insurance companies consider it a vehicle modification, and therefore it is your responsibility to inform your vehicle insurer of the modification.
However, most insurance companies will appreciate the benefits and your reasons for having your engine tuned. In our experience it’s deemed a positive that and engine is remapped to make it run efficiently.
We can provide a tuning certificate for peace of mind for both you and your insurance provider. This includes evidence of increases in power and torque your vehicle has gained.
